Alot of work had to be done on this machine as it was found in a damp store. Unfortunatley we did not take photos during the restoration.
Now fully functional and calibrated up to standard.
Photos taken while restoring Microwriter device. We got 2 of these kindy donated to us by Barry Newman as a thank you gift for repairing a PDP computer.
The story is that the company who worked for used the Microwriter to take notes while taking orders.
The restore of this computer was not as easy as it looks. One of the issues was lack of documentation. The tape was very difficult to restore due that the heads where magnitized and replacment was not so easy.
Now in fully working condition as new.
Kindly donated by Computime LTD, this computer was used mainly for time sharing and as an internal system.
The restore is still in progress due that documentation is very limited but main module and one hard disk are functional. Next step is to find decent extractor fans blowers and some more memory modules.
Kindly donated this Commodore 64 took us just a few hours to clean it. It does not suffer from any yellowing as it was well kept. The only issue it had is that when turned on the characters where displayed in different colours, which was solved by replacing the color ram chip.
Donated by a school, this computer was part of a batch of 20 used for educational porpose. This is the only that survived the trash can. Boxed with all manuals and accessories. The box is not 100% but its complete.
The restoration was very easy as it was already fully functional and cleanup was straitforward as it was kept in the box.
Donated by Rendall Vella, this computer was used in a shop for stocktakes and inventory.
The machine was very dirty and cleaning was very difficult. Today the item is fully functional with all manuals and disks but not boxed.
The MZ-700 was designed by Sharp. The previous oner told me he used it mainly for accounts and he wrote the software himself as software was very limited.
As during the restore there where some issues with the tape deck other then that the restoration went plain easy. It's fully functional and boxed with manuals and power supply.
Donated way back in 2000 and shipped from the US. The machine was not working in the begining due to the a faulty power supply.
The photos are not so clear but you can tell that some brackets where missing and modifications had to be done. Also this Osborne is fully loaded with additional features such as 80 col screen and upgraded drives.
This is the second exhibition and the first one in a school. We had so much fun with the students that day and the presentation they really appreciate it.
The Vintage Compuetr Festival 2015 was held at InfoAge. These photos where sent to me after I visited the place as I lost the camera that day. Nice experience I will defintley go again.
We have 2 of these the UK and the US version both donated by the same person. Restoration was plain easy and no major changes has been done to the machine.
